THE KING'S LAST WISHES

THE KING'S  LAST WISHES  J.K. SIVAN

Time was running out.  The great king  was lying on his death bed. He was surrounded by the best physicians of the known world of his time. No one's face showed any sign of satisfaction. He had been given the best treatment possible and available then through them. Yet the youthful king was dying. It is now a question of hours, minutes and seconds before he leaves this world.. He was in delirium since  early that morning. The fever ushered it and all efforts to bring down the fever failed. In between the king was regaining some consciousness  and he never failed to make best use of it.
The brave king summoned his commanders and lieutenants and he was able to remember with great difficulty what he wanted to convey.
The king was not like others. He was a philosopher too. He was fortunate to have great teachers of his time as his gurus.
He was keen to equip himself with the knowledge of ancient Vedas from India and and truth from Egypt and he was surely successful in quickly assimilating what was permanent and impermanent in this world.

In one of the moments of his consciousness he signed those nearby to summon his generals.

He was happy to recognise the faces of his best doctors in Greece. ..  He slowly raised his hand to indicate in sign language as he could not talk coherently some thing..  With great difficulty the doctors consulted among themselves and understood what he conveyed . They all unanimously understood that his coffin once he is dead, should be lifted only by them to the graveyard in procession.   Why this wish?   Is it to convey to everyone witnessing his funeral procession and last passage, to realise and understand that NO BEST DOCTORS OR PHYSICANS CAN SAVE LIFE AND AVOID DEATH.
The king managed to convey his second wish also likewise through his kith and kin to everyone.  They understood what he wished:  ''ALL MY WEALTH, IN THE FORM OF CASH, JEWELLERY, AND BELONGINGS... SHOULD BE SCATTERED ALONG THE WAY HIS COFFIN WAS CARRIED AND PROCEEDING TO THE FINAL DESTINATION.....  Is this to establish the truth to everyone that all that you saved, acquired and desired to possess will not accompany you when you leave this world alone without  the company of any person or anything you possessed.. They all came to me from this earth during my life and should go back to the same earth as they did not belong to me.....I did not create them . I just only blocked and kept their movement elsewhere..

The king developed sudden hiccups.  He was struggling to breathe..and his body was shaking and his memory was failing  He was aware the time is running out of him. Yet he managed to convey his last wish minutes before he was dead completely.... his last wish conveyed to his generals near his death bed was  undersood clearly by them... MY HANDS SHOULD BE LEFT HANGING OUTSIDE THE COFFIN WITH OPEN PALMS... FOR ALL TO SEE  IT CLEARLY ''

What a great philosopher vedanthic King he was to realise and remind the world that ''WE COME INTO THIS WORLD  WITH OPEN PALM EMPTY HANDED AND LEAVE IT EMPTY HANDED. WHY THIS MAD RUSH FOR POSSESSING SOMETHING WHICH WILL NEVER LAST..  AND ARE ILLUSORY!''

The best option is always to distribute and give away what you can at all times as your best present...
The best present you can give your family and friends is your TIME and share your knowledge with others...

The immortal  king is well known to everyone. ALEXANDER THE GREAT. THE GREEK EMPEROR....disciple of Philosopher Aristotle
