Happy Diwali to all of you. Krishna is inseparable with Diwali as He is the one who caused the death of Narakasura who prayed for his remembrance on this day. Diwali is therefore known as Naraka chathurdhasi which many dont recognise as the popular name of worship of lights is deeply embedded in each mind.
Krishna on this day is remembered by one of the songs of Jayadeva from his Ashtapadhi. Dr Balamuralikrishna had presented us many of Jayadeva\s Ashtapadhis and this one is a Ragamalika with Mohanam, Saraswathi, Bageshrri and Behag interspersed with Reethigowlai. Only 4 stanzas are sung to save time .
Hope you will enjoy my rendering this song because I am no singer with any professional knowledge or learning but am inspired by Jayadeva's krithis and the melody of Dr BMK besides being a Krishna devotee and so take this as my prayer song on this auspicious day.
