LUCK   -   Nanganallur  J K SIVAN 

For so many small things  I do  and  get done by others  or  receive something  friends and others  say ''You are lucky.  I have also used this  term  on many occasions  while congratulating  others for something they have done to others or  some others have done  to them.  I wonder what is this exactly?  What do we mean by saying ''lucky""

Is  Luck something one gets without expecting? May be, we also call it  fortune and the beneficiaries are known as fortunate people, 

Is luck unexpected? no qualifications needed?  Nothing. No eligibility question at all to be lucky. If one gets it because of eligibility and expertise, he can expect it .No luck then.  Have you heard of the maxim ''Luck is the bonus of hard work''. It is absolutely true as  one can expect a reward for his sincere hard work to achieve something in his career, work or  life.  

Oh then,  luck is not something unexpected. It is expectable as a favourable result or reward for dedication and sincerity in whatever done by a person aiming at the said  result successfully.

The next question arises,  Can everybody get it?  Yes and no is the answer.  Yes, if the approach is  dedicated as stated earlier. No,   if one takes it for granted. It is not a guarantee for free eligibility.

The basic requirement is  honesty in planned approach, unstinted hard work.  Mental courage and optimistic view in pursuit of the targeted work.  It creates self confidence in positively thinking that whatever  attempt made with honesty and hard work will certianly be successful and the reward is stamped and branded as luck by those who dont  aim at it thus.  

We  wish good luck to children studying hard in their exams,  friends  are  wished good luck in their efforts to achieve something and  we consider ourselves ''fortunate'' to be blessed by elders, seers and great persons.
