''A DAY WITH DAMODARA''
Sree Krishnarpanam Seva Society, Nanganallur, on Sunday, 12th Novembher 2017, celebrated ''A DAY WITH DAMODARA'' from 8 am till 8 pm at the Guruvayurappan Narayana Pravachana Mandapam, Nanganallur
After the auspicious lighting of the Kuthu vilakku,by Smt Jayalakshmi Suryaranarayana, of Innerwheel Ladies Club, Nanganallur, Smt. Premavathi Sundararajan, Smt Jayalakshmi Sivan, Smt Latha Ramachandran and Smt Mythili Srinivasan, and prayer by Smt Muthulakshmi Krishnan welcoming the Lord with her ''Swagatham song, Sri Keeranur Ramamurthi, President of SKSS weclomed everyone for the day long celebration in two sessions. He outlined the program for the two sessions.
ISKCON, Madipakkam, represented by Sri Srinivasan and his group performed Krishna nama sangeerthan and lectured on Gita.
Master Avyukth gave a lecture on ''Aindham Vedham'' (Mahabharatham) befitting the occasion, followed by M
aster Shyam playing Krishna songs on his Keyboard. He performed effortlessly with one hand.
The main event was a special thematic excellent presentation of Krishna in Brindhavan dance event, by Smt Gayathri Jambunathan and her students of ABINAYALAYA DANCE SCHOOL, NANGANALLUR. The dance performance was very nicely compered by Ms. Indira.
The dance program was followed by the thought provoking speech of Kainkarya Seeman, Thirumal Kavichelvar, U.Ve. Sri Raghuveera Bhattacharyar on Mahabharatha.
After free lunch for everyone present the post lunch session commenced with a Quiz on Mahabharatha characters conducted by Prof R.Ganapathi Subramanian and S.Jambunathan. Mr Jambunathan conducted the quiz like a Thambola game which was a novel presentation and was quite interesting.
Master Srivardhan, a 7 year old lecturer, entertained everyone with his discourse on Pundalika charithram.
It was followed by Smt VidhyaShiv rendering a brief Harikatha dance cum lecture on Krishna for a few minutes which was quite interesting. Her singing in her pleasing voice was quite interesting.
Sri N. Viswesvar a genius in playing flute, from Madipakkam, performed selected best songs on Krishna for nearly an hour ably supported by the vidwans on Mridangam and violin forming his team.
SKSS honour of ''VAMSI KALADHARA ' was conferred on Sri N Visweswar, by the Chairman of SKSS Sri J.K.Sivan joined by the SKSS team much to the pleasure of everyone present who gave their approval by continued claps and ovation.
On this occasion, the 32nd publication of SKSS, ''AINDHAM VEDHAM'' (MAHABHARATHAM) in Tamil, in two volumes of about 500 pages each, in art paper with multi color picture, authored by Sri J.K.Sivan, based on Vedha Vyasa's lakhs of Sanskrit slokas, was released by Thirumandhira Thilakam, Thamizh Chemma, Dr Ma.Ki. Ramanan, and first copies were received by the selected members of Guruvayurappan Asthika Samaj Trust,
The Chief Guest Dr Ramanan, spoke very nicely for nearly an hour on the book released and about the author, Sri, J.K.Sivan.
Mr. Sivan on his part, thanked everyone for their support to his effort in bringing out the huge book for the children and gratefully acknowledged the physical, moral and financial assistance and help extended from the inception of SKSS. .
Smt Gayathri Jambunathan read the list of well wishers, donors and contributors to the succes of SKSS from day one.
Damodara Prasadh was distributed to all after thanking all the donors and well wishers of SKSS by Mr. Jambunathan, Treasurer of SKSS, in his Vote of Thanks.
Prof K.Sundararajan and Smt Gayathri Jambunathan were Masters of Ceremony in the Pre and Post lunch sessions respectively. A few photogrlaphs sent by some who attended the function are attached.
