Dear Friends
CAUSE & EFFECT.
Patience pays we say. Do we have patience? How many times we lose our balance and get tempered and burst out.. Even small mistakes are mishaps are not accepted or tolerated by us though we commit such blunders many time.
The great Greek philosopher Socrates was having many students and disciples and he never failed to give them his maximum time which irritated his family.
One day as usual Socrates was seated on the porch of his hut surrounded by his students. His wife Xanthippe (forty years younger than him) was cooking inside and demanded some help from Socrates. Socrates did not pay any attention to her and continued his teaching of ''cause and effect'' to students.
The murmur of Xanthippe became loud shouting and scolding of Socrates for not attending to her needs.
He was completely engrossed in his teaching unmindful of her shouting.
At one stage Xanthippe brought a pot full of water and poured it on his head in presence of his students. She was so much angry.
Socrates did not react to her act of violence but continued to teach the students . Do you know how he ended his teaching with an explanation?
' My dear students, now you will clearly understand . It so long thundered and caused the rain''
Is it not easy for you now to remember that there is no effect without a cause and there is no cause without its effect''..
