Dear Friends,
THE ULTIMATE TRUTH
You will remember that everything in nature, is based on the eternal law of cause and effect. Nature as a whole must be understood and explained. It must have some cause. This cause must be different from the effect. It will then disclose the fact that some supernatural entity, i.e., God is the root cause of all.
Nature is neither a collection of events, nor a jumble of accidents. It is governed by some neat regular order. . The planets move regularly in their orbits, seeds grow into trees regularly, the seasons succeed each other in order. Now Nature cannot order itself. It requires the existence of an intelligent being, i.e., God, who is responsible for it. Even Einstein, the great scientist, was strongly convinced of the creation of the universe by a Supreme Intelligence. So faith in God is not foolish or stupidity as some persons claim without any basis..
The existence of God or the Athma known as Self is determined or indicated by the existence of what is known as the Upadhis or limiting adjuncts, viz., body, mind, Prana and the senses, because there must be self-consciousness behind their activities.
We possess what we wanted and yet we want of something more. No satisfaction or contentment. Let us add God to the list of our wants and we will have fullness.
We feel conscience. When we do something wrong, an evil action, we are afraid. It is the pricking of the conscience within. It is a reminder that God exists and witnesses all our thoughts and actions constantly and warns us.
What is Brahmam. Like the onion skin, peeling after peeling the desired thing materialises. After removal of all negatives, we obtain Bramman. This is what the sage Yajnavalkya declares in the 'Brihadaranyaka Upanishad' about Brahman -- ''neti, neti, or 'not this', 'not this.' Tthe residue left after discarding the names and forms is Brahman.
