KRISHNA....2

KRISHNA....2 - J.K. SIVAN

Mohenjodaro in Larkana Dist., Sindh Province is now a part of Pakistan. The world famous archealogical unearthing of so many interesting finds, evidence the past life speaking volumes of the Indus Valley civilization of our ancestors.

A tablet found amongst other items unearthed, depicts a small boy uprooting two trees from which are emerging two human figures. This is certainly not a story but a fact evidencing an interesting archaeological find. It helps greatly to fix the dates associated with the life of Lord Krishna of Dwapara Yuga.

The image I have described above is relevant to the Yamalarjuna episode of Bhagavata and Harivamsa Purana. The young boy is no doubt Lord Krishna in his childhood, when he was tied to a stone grinder by Yasodha. Krishna pulled the grinding stone attached to one end of the rope binding his waist, through the narrow gap between two huge trees which were uprooted. From out of the uprooted trees emerged the two celestial beings who were cursed and awaited deliverance through Krishna. They were named Nalakubara and Manigriva.

The archaelogist who excavated and found the image of the boy at Mohenjodaro, Dr. E.J.H. Mackay, links it to the Yamalarjuna episode referred to above

Prof. V.S. Agrawal the great historian has also identified the image as that of Krishna..
