Sree Krishnarpanam Seva Society is immensely pleased to advise you that through a member, Smt Gomathi, was able to organize a written quiz on Maha Bharatham to be conducted at the Subramaniam Seva Trust, Aykudi. Tenkasi.
50 simple questions connected with Mahabharatha, with suggested answers, in both Tamil and English was prepared by J.K.Sivan and adequate number of SKSS PUBLICATIONS , for distributin to meritorious participants were supplied to the above instutition through Smt Gomathi, a PG well qualified Educationist with rich exerience..
Recently the quiz program was conducted and the prizes to selected participants were distributed by Sri S. Ramakrishnan, the Founder of Amar Seva Sangam, an internationally reputed organisation catering to serving the physically challenged persons, situated at Aykudi .
Aykudi is in Tenkasi,Tirunelveli Dt., and the organisation is doing a great yeoman service in educating children, helping them learn various languages, improve their skill in sports, Fine Arts, and in particular caters to Women's welfare, besides providing opporltunities for physically challenged persons,
They serve to provide opportunities for Physically Challenged persons, facilities for old age persons and promote the awareness of Hygiene and sanitation among the local public and improve Eco frienly activities. Their objectives include providing transit homes,helping the needy and weaker section of society and educate many children through their Tuition Centre since inception in 2006,
They have facilities for coaching IX AND X STD students through qualified and experienced part time teachers. The Institution is ably administered by sri N. Harihara Subramanyan the Founder
As regards the interntionally reputed well known organisation for service to physically challenged viz., Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA) founded by Sri Ramakrishnan. a brief note is given below
Siva Saraswathi Vidyalaya was started as a primary school with just 5 students in thatched shed.- Nursery School and Hindi coaching classes commenced. In 1990 ASSA began getting wider public attention and donations from many individuals - 1991 An integrated school was started where Disabled children study with the normal children. - A Home for Disabled Children was established 1992 Mr. Sankara Raman C.A, confined to a wheelchair due to muscular dystrophy, hears about ASSA and joins Mr. Ramakrishnan. - Dormitory shelter for Disabled children constructed
More than 60 Polio Detection camps conducted. - 1993 A Rehabilitation Centre started - 1994Caliper making centre started
Quarters for disabled volunteers constructed.
Computer/Typewriting Training/Spirulina making /Note book making/bookbinding centres started
1997Valley for the Disabled and village Self help initiative through establishment of Village councils initiated. Spastic Centre started with 13 children.1998Hostel for Disabled youth trainees/1999AutoCad centre inagurated/ Desktop publishing training Centre started
2001Village Based Rehabiliation (VBR) initiatives gets support from Sir Ratan Tata Trust and started in four select pockets.
2002Dr. S. Sumathi, wheel chair user due to muscular dystrophy joins hands to take active part to build educational and vocational training activities 2007Advance IT Centre started and Post-acute care Centre for Spinal injured started /2008Sangamam School for children with special needs started/ 2009Hostel for Physically challenged girls started/Integrated School Upgraded to 10th Standard/2012Barrier free Training centre for Physically challenged completed/Amar Institute of Rehabilitation started/Early Intervention program for childhood disabilities started
2013Early Intervention Centre started/Garments making unit started/2015Life care support centre inagurated/Grand Challenges Canada project rolled out.

WE I REQUEST ALL MEMBERS TO IDENTIFY SCHOOLS AND INSTITUTIONS IN THEIR LOCALITY, WHERE QUIZ, ESSAY, CHANTING, ELOCUTION AND ART COMPEITIONS COULD BE ORGANISED BY SKSS WITH YOUR /LOCAL ASSISTANCE AT DATE AND TIME CONVENIENT SO THAT WE CAN VISIT AND DISTRIBUTE THE SPIRITUAL PUBLICATIONS TO CHILDREN AND OTHER INTERESTED ELDERS TOO.
