Dear Father of the Nation, J K SIVAN
When Bharat became independent, thanks to your best efforts, we were in turmoil as we are now. Though nearly 72 years have passed by, we are not what we should have been, and what you and others imagined and dreamt and expected us to be. We had Dr Radhakrishnan and Abdul Kalam as our Presidents to be our role models for a change. But we could not follow them as our role models in our day today life? Sorry We cannot. Because of the condition of the States our rulers so far created, the differences in citizens introduced, the caste discrimination which separated, even for voting our rights!!! It is doubtful if we are living in one India, or many sub-divisions of India? The difference we created is based on the language we speak and the life pattern we follow, because of the imposition of caste feelings.
Learning and educational development is considered as just a mere ladder for career making, career progression or material success.
Educational institutions are behaving like sheer commercial ventures who would like to see their personal wealth as return on investment than the development of their students as leaders or influencers and finding them in the top echelons of leadership.
The content and pedagogy in educational institutions is not mature enough to create leaders, thinkers or intellectuals. Parents are also not interested in this like the teachers.
Majority of young graduates emerge from colleges as mere certificate holders than being innovators or passionate for a productive future.
Innovation, scientific temper, social temper and personal touch are becoming scarce commodities. Certificate evidencing good marks is the aim to get more money in the job, whatever be it.
Many a bright and promising students are ignored by society based on several discriminations like caste, creed, wealth or jealousy.
Governments are struggling for every time survival and sustenance in face of ever changing political uncertainties.
The work of NGOs in this direction is hardly visible except for acquiring personal wealth of those concerned.
The media which has emerged as the powerful influencer in today’s society is playing to the tunes of sensationalism, bias or numbers of sustenance and are mostly owned and run by rich belonging to the vested interests to ruin the culture, tradition and faith of this country.
The film industry or entertainment sector which is the other impactful media is seized with commercial, stereotype, and pale content which just portend either violence or immature love or frivolous relationships. They are the best spoilers of the growing young minds.
There is no constructive system in the country that can develop trainers, faculty or teachers who can inculcate important leadership traits beyond academic syllabus.
We need in every state one or more exclusive Universities, research-cum-mentoring institutions which will nourish tomorrow’s leaders in areas like Politics, Technology, Innovation, Social Sector Development, Culture, and Vision and Strategy and admissions to such institutions not based on caste, creed, reservations or influence of money. Easy access for students a must. Philanthropists may fund them and administer them to ensure the poor students are availing the best coaching and benefited for national and social development. We need philanthropic organizations and individuals who will support the sustenance of this university and the students equally. If education is made free than mixies, cycles, computers, rice and food items, the country will bring forth great leaders of tomorrow along with best citizen of the country. Many will contribute for the right cause.
Other government and non-governmental institutions that have already done their research in this direction should collaborate with the proposed university and share their research expertise for accelerated introduction of programs.
We need to devise an external incubation center headed by intellectuals, matured politicians, technologists, business men and religious scholars who will supplement to the visionary direction of these future leaders.
The need of the hour for India is not just today’s employment, not just growing more food or not just trying to secure India from invasive forcers. We need to think about our future. We need to see that young India is empowered to shoulder the responsibility for tomorrow. We need to see our country at the zenith of all-round development. It can be sustained by a team of adequate number of selfless voluntary people who are really interested in serving the society and its members for making Bharat a powerful nation fully equipped in all aspects. Those wishing to enter politics and interested in ruling us should not be businessmen trying to earn for themselves, and add to their riches.
Let us empower our younger generation. Then they will know how to take care of future India. They just need guidance. Many have voted recently and many of them should take the reins and rule us in all the states helped by the experience of right leaders.

Our dear Bapuji, you loved the fellowmen, adhering to Sathyam, Truth and honesty, but sorry we cannot follow you. No we can only enjoy holidays for your dates of birth, if not think of you on the dates of your death. We can use only your smiling face for all the under-the- table transactions and demonitise you. The paper with yhour smiling face changes hands for being ''quick money''.
Your choice of Jawaharlal Nehru as our First Prime Minister is wonderful with mixed feelings. Do we unanimously identify him a good leader appreciating his decisions in many things which still pose a big problem. Unfortunately he happened to be the first Indian leader of this country to introduce the dynasty rule . Can we forget the experience of emergency during his daughter's regime, which was our first experience. Well whatever happened has happened. Next we had a prime minister in the form of his grandson, and a greatest national shock followed because of his death caused by a human bomb. Then follows the leadership of Rajeev Gandhi's Italian wife and son whose defacto control and governance adding to the existing chaos. Alas, for the first time there has been 60 years a change in governance from some one interested in developing this unfortunate big nation.
It is surprising that not even a handful among the billions of us are available to rule and govern all the states and at the centre! Even if found, we will not accept him, if he is honest, truthful and serves really for the country. Bapuji, I am worry, we are not what our ancestors were as known to you during your freedom struggle. We only prefer those who offer us free food, free bus ticket, and free mixies, jars, rice, etc., and not worried wherefrom the money comes for this. You will agree this makes our life effortless and workless. Are we not ''free'' Indians?
You may be wondering why we have become like this, and dont we need an intellectual honest leader with broad outlook and noble thoughts.-- a true leader? Will not such a person be the influencer for our future generations? Are we making any serious steps to improve our younger generation? Dont we need some more Vivekanandas, Ramakrishnas to awaken us?
Dear Bapuji, if you think so, you are asking from us too much. We have learnt to mind our comfort first than worrying about our ancestors, or our posterity and next generations. Let them care for themselves. Why worry about them.? Vivekanand and Ramakrishna, Chaitanyas are good only to read about them, after our retirement when we dont have any other thing to do to satisfy ourselves and our needs after we watch the eversomany channels in the tv. It may be a good pastime at best if only we can undersand Vivekanda and others.

I dont think we can do anything towards improving our society.. Parents spend money to educate children in English medium, push them to get high marks for getting degrees and credentials by sending them to USA. Individual development means only this. Not to waste time on Epics, traditions, culture and social practice etc., Let old people take care of this. It is important to first develop the career than character. Once money is earned it will take care of character even if there is some lapse.

We need political will to give shape to this cause.
We need parents and students who will understand the value of leadership and who would passionately think about the bright future of India. We need parents who will encourage their children to play an important leadership role for India’s bright future.
Universities and educational institutions should introduce the new syllabus and pedagogy as suggested by the proposed university. This should happen right from school level so that by the time a student graduates he / she would be able to think the significance of his / her role for future India.

Bapuji, you just continue to pray for us, as your ''advice'' of dismantling and disbanding the Congress, which was a movement for just obtaining FREEDOM, after independence was killed before you were killed. But Time is the healer of all wounds isn't it?
Namaskars Bapuji.
an Indian.
